There is no escaping the fact that
we all have to die, some sooner some later. Naturally, to the
majority of people death signifies the dreaded event of the
crossing of the great divide, the final frontier. People usually
fear the things they do not know, and as far as they are concerned,
passing over to the other side presents the ultimate great unknown.
There is within every human being an
acquired fear of death, programmed by your parents and family,
society, religion, the media etc. The list is endless. The
desire to prolong one's life seems a prime concern, no matter
the cost. Ironically, this fear also usually prevents you
from committing suicide. The reality is, If people would know
without doubt the paradise that awaits them, there would be
suicides on a grand scale. Various cults are an example of
this.
The other side of the coin is the manner.
i.e. the pain, in which they might die. You have all seen
it on TV,"He died in icy agony as he shed his mortal
coil... etc." But in all honesty, death in itself is
a painless affair. The condition which might lead to the demise
is another matter altogether.
Death is the great anesthetist. Release
from physical sufferance; release from the myriad's of pressures,
stresses and tensions and intolerance's which shaped you.
Plus, the greatest reality of all, the act of returning home.
The sentence is finally over, and you will breathe a sigh
of relief. So remember, knowledge about death and the others
side, will set you free. Everything in life is knowable. If
you can think of the question, be sure that there is an answer.
You may not comprehend the answer(s), but that depends entirely
on the degree of your spiritual development.
So find your truth, trust in god and
have faith. Comprehension will take time, but it will happen,
I promise you.

To die proudly when it is no
longer possible to live proudly.
Death of one's own free choice, death at the proper time,
with a clear head and with joyfulness, consummated in the
midst of children and witnesses: so that an actual leave-
taking is possible while he who is leaving is still there.
