Here is a subject very close to my heart. I cannot over-emphasise the need for protection whilst dealing with spirit and all related subjects. If you have dealings with spirit without protection, it is very much like leaving the doors of your house wide open to the general public, saying that everybody is welcome-anybody is welcome. Most will indeed be benign experiences, but sooner or later someone will enter your house doing a lot of damage. The power to exercise your free will extends also to the spirit world as much as it does to us here on earth. You may find out the hard way that spirit have their own agenda, and that there are wills out there which are way stronger then our own.

Spiritual entities are generally attracted to the light of your aura and may attach themselves to this light. This is what is generally known as an attachment problem. The motives for this are many and varied. As far as I am aware of, no spirit was ever denied entrance into the spirit world. If they choose not to enter, then they do so of their own free will. There are those who’s souls are troubled, preferring to ‘hang around’ the earth plane for whatever reason. It may take some time to convince them to cross over properly. Their guides or their loved ones will eventually be successful in coaxing them over. They will listen to the voice of reason eventually once they accept the folly of their ways, and the effect their actions have upon the ‘living’. Then there are also those individuals with malignant intent, who like to prey on the ‘living’ and who may well pretend to be lost. Their behaviour will in all likelihood be abusive and will cause much upset to the people on earth. They may well be trapped within the darkness of their own torments. It must be understood that the powers that they have acquired by passing into the spirit world are the same we all share when our time comes, and as such they can also be abused and used to cause harm.

It is unlikely that you are used to deal with problem’s such as rescue work, consequently it is far wiser to find a professional medium/s or rescue circles and let them make contact. They will know what to do. They will try to explain to a ‘lost soul’ that there is nothing at all to fear in the realms of spirit, that they should walk into the light and be met by their loved ones. There will be no more suffering or any of the myriad encumbrances they encountered while on earth, and that they will find peace.

SOME PROTECTION PRACTICES

1. Surround yourself with the white light of the holy spirit, feel it encircling you, protecting you. There is nothing to fear while you are in this bubble of light. This is a visualisation technique with a proven track record. This really works.
   
   
2. Some people prefer to visualise to be surrounded by a violet flame, some by a golden flame or light. Both work equally well.
   
   
3. Visualise yourself to be surrounded by mirrors which are inverted outwards, and that any possible negativity will bounce of the mirrors, away from you.
   
   
4. Smudge your space with sage, sandalwood is also good. This could be incense or you could use oils. Smudging is a very old proven practice which purifies and protects a person and his space.
   
   
5. Wear crystal which have protective attributes or qualities such as Amethyst, Gold or Blue Tigers Eye, Lapis Lazuli or Black Tourmaline. These will all work.
   
   
6. Wear jewellery with protective symbols, like the Star of David, the Egyptian Ankh, the Cross, Rune symbols etc. Wearing jewellery is very much a personal thing , and it is advisable to only wear what you are comfortable with.
   
   
7. If you are used to praying, do that! It is the act of appealing to and invoking the power of God, and highly effectual. I would like to take this opportunity and tell you that it does not matter in the least to what religious denomination you belong. A prayer is a prayer, and it is the intent behind the prayer that counts.

In closing please be advised to never use a Ouija board. The use of such a device attracts lower earthbound entities and can be dangerous. Another activity to shy away from is the practice of Ghost hunting. Unless this is done for the purpose of rescue and not entertainment, this should not be entered into. Most participants in this “hunt” do not know what they are dealing with, and should an attachment problem occur, they will be at a loss as to resolve the situation. The use of the Ouija board and Ghost hunting are both objectionable activities and should be avoided.
