TEMPERANCE

As you progress on your spiritual journey, you will eventually encounter a little impasse, a little stumbling block. It is important that you pay attention to the manifestations and acquisition of love and harmony and your expression of these virtues. As already mentioned, you must try to infect others with your light, be it through loving service or the wisdom in your words. Here then is an excerpt of a book which I have read a very long time ago, which explains it wonderfully.

"In all things be temperate. Be wise; keep your poise.
The spiritual life must be balanced by the practical,
for the aspirant, through mastery over practical affairs,
must manifest the wisdom, the harmony and the tran-
quillity of God's spirit. You are not here to dream your
life away, but to beautify life and to enjoy all the gifts
which God gives you. The well-balanced man or woman,
seeking to glorify God, will use his or her life to be happy
and to make others happy. Follow the son, the light in your
heart, the voice of Christ, which is gentle, not arrogant. Be
calm and trusting. Do not get agitated about tomorrow, for
tomorrow will take care of itself. One step at a time; but when
taking that step be full of joy, for your father-mother is by
your side and all is well.
May the peace of the infinite heart bless and sustain every
action and thought of your life."
